Weeping Water Nebraska
Mayor Howard Stubbendieck opened the public hearing at 5:00 p.m. on July 28, 2003 at City Hall with the following councilmen answering roll: Ray Frew, Bob McCaulley and Larry Bauers. The purpose of said public hearing was to consider action on a small tract subdivision application.

Notice of the public hearing and special meeting was given in advance thereof by publication in the July 17, 2003 edition of the Plattsmouth Journal.

Councilmen reviewed the information presented regarding the small tract subdivision requested by Albert & Cynthia Bailey. There being no public objection to the subdivision application, the public hearing was closed and the special meeting was opened with Frew, McCaulley and Bauers answering roll.

Motion by Bauers, seconded by McCaulley to adopt Resolution No. 03-10, based on the recommendation of the Planning Board, which approves an administrative subdivision of Tax Lot 14 located in the SW1/4 of the NW1/4 of Section 36-T11N-R11E of the 6th P.M., Cass County, Nebraska. Motion carried unanimously.

Upon review of the eight applicants who expressed an interest in the city council vacancy, a motion was made by Bauers, seconded by McCaulley to accept the Mayor’s recommendation to appoint Melody Falcone to fill the current city council vacancy. Motion carried unanimously.

Discussion was held regarding bids received for the loader, tractor and mower, with action being tabled for further review.

Motion by McCaulley, seconded by Frew to approve the Administrative Agreement with Southeast Nebraska Development District for administration services of the Community Development Block Grant, as recommended by the City Attorney. Motion carried unanimously.

Councilmen agreed to set a public hearing on August 11, 2003 at 5:45 p.m., in regard to the city’s intent to use CDBG Reuse funds for demolition activities.

Other issues discussed were upcoming explosive training session to be held August 6, a car rally scheduled October 6, 2003, with a scheduled stop in Weeping Water, preliminary budget proposals, fire equipment van information, fire insurance recommendations and correspondence.

Motion by Frew, seconded by McCaulley to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously.
