Weeping Water Newsletter
10 Weeping Water Elementary students traveled to Springfield to participate in the Sing Around Nebraska Honor Choir. More information on the choir and pictures are included in this week's newsletter. Also included are upadated and new community announcements.
Weeping Water Elementary School sent a large number of 10 students ranging from 4th-6th grade to the Sing Around Nebraska Honor Choir, which took place Saturday, February 23 at Platteview School in Springfield. It is a very great honor to be selected for this honor choir.
In order to be accepted into this honor choir, the kids had to record themselves singing a solo of their choice and send the tape in. A panel of judges review all the tapes and decide which kids make it and which don't. So as you can see, it is a very big honor for Weeping Water to send 10 kids to such a hard honor choir.
The Weeping Water students were joined by 90 other students from Fort Calhoun, York, Springfield, Louisville, Westmont, Wakefield, and Tekamah-Herman. The students started practice early at 8:00 a.m. and practice almost nonstop until their concert for the parents at 7:00 p.m. that night. The students performed 7 songs, two of which were foreign language songs!
The students that were accepted into the Sing Around Nebraska Honor Choir were Savannah Barrett, MacKenzie Burch, Emily Randall, Michaela Horn, Riley Kerans, Travis Grafe, Collin Heath, Taylor Hermann, Gage Kraeger, and Lindsey Spohr. Congratulations on making it into the choir and putting on a great performance!

Weeping Water Auditorium Renovation Project
A very positive community project is currently underway for the City of Weeping Water. We need your financial help to make it possible. The Weeping Water Community Building Foundation is restoring the old building that was used as an auditorium for the Cass County Agricultural Society.
The new building would be a multipurpose facility and would include a banquet hall, city offices, and a community center, which will serve as a site for Senior Citizen Meals, community organizational meetings/functions, and will be available for public rental. It is also under consideration that the Public Library be moved to the basement of the new community building.
Several generous donations have been made from numerous people and businesses, grant funds, and sales tex revenue for Weeping Water have been some ways the community building project has recieved money. But, there is still a great deal of need to meet financial obligations. This is a great opportunity to give back to your community in a positive way. All contributors will be recognized.
Your support is greatly appreciated!
