Weeping Water Nebraska
Weeping Water Newsletter

Weeping Water's Community Vacation Bible School started off great this week! Monday was the first day of VBS this summer and the kids had a blast. Inlcuded in this week's newsletter are pictures from the fun filled first day. Also included in this week's newsletter are new upcoming community events.

Continuing Improvments to Weeping Water

The bike trail looks great! The bike trail currently runs from the white bridge to the City Lakes where it runs over the bridge running from the City Lakes to the area near the Weeping Water Pool. The bike trail is a wonderful addition to out community!

If you've been in Weeping Water recently you have also seen the changes going on on the top of Gospel Hill by the Congregational Church. They have decided to widen the corner at the top of the hill, which is a big relief to many of us. I can't even count the number of times I came around that corner and came face to face with a huge semi. What a relief!

Here are some current pictures of the progress on these two great projects:

Weeping Water Community Vacation Bible School

The first day of Vacation Bible School was great! There were more kids than expected in attendance, but the teachers managed. You could tell the kids were having a blast right from the start when the traditional VBS songs started up. VBS continues through Friday from 9:00 a.m. through noon. There is a beach theme this year, so get ready to hula! Even if your child missed the first couple days they are more than welcome to come the last couple days. The more, the merrier! Look forward to pictures from the VBS picnic and performance in next week's newsletter!

Elmwood

Crusaders Gospel Band at St. Paul UMC, Elmwood on July 27th
A news release for your consideration! Thank you!
Forty-four Year Crusade

Singing groups come and go but not the Crusaders. This gospel group has been singing together for forty-four years -- the same four people -- and they are coming to Elmwood.

As teenagers in the mid-60s, the Crusaders grew to be one of the Midwest's best-known gospel groups. In the 70s they started traveling full-time sharing the stage with other nationally known southern gospel groups, like the Blackwood Brothers and Stamps Quartet. Today, because of their powerful presentation and the resurgence in popularity of gospel music, their music and message is in its greatest demand.

Their unique blend of praise and worship songs and southern gospel music appeals to all ages. The Crusaders will be presenting a concert at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 400 West G Street, Elmwood, NE on July 27th, at 6:30 p.m. There is no charge, but a free will offering will be taken.

Springfield:
The new strip mall being built at Highway 50 and Platteview Road in Springfield will be the home to a new Daycare/All Day Preschool Center. A Step Ahead is being developed by two former Papillion/LaVista teachers and one para-professional. Angela Stanley from Louisville will be the director. Angela formerly taught music and gifted children. Jill Brandt was a para-professional in special education for over 20 years.
A Step Ahead is dedicated to your child's development, welcomes special needs children, and construction is expected to be completed around the first of August 2008. No later than September 1, 2008.
