Community Vacation Bible School

Weeping Water's Vacation Bible School for this year was a splash! The theme for this year's VBS was Beach Party: Surfing Through the Scriptures. VBS was five days long this year and very eventful. Each day the VBS students would participate in a lesson, snack, craft, indoor and outdoor activies, and opening and closing skits.

Sydney Barrett, Jessica Hanson, and David Danielson were the wonderful volunteers that did the opening and closing skit every day. The skit took place on a beach and the characters worked their way through problems by reading and following scriptures while being so funny the audience was rolling with laughter. The kids also had a great time singing along with their favorite VBS songs, including the all time favorite "Pharoah, Pharoah."

All in all VBS was a fun time for the kids, volunteers, and everyone involved. Over 100 kids participated in VBS this year, which is a great turnout for our little community. A big thank you goes out to all the volunteers and helpers who made VBS possible, the kids for coming to the event, Dawn Randall who decorated and organized the whole event, and the area churches for helping out. Congrats on a great year of VBS!

Crusaders Gospel Band at St. Paul UMC, Elmwood on July 27th
A news release for your consideration! Thank you!
Forty-four Year Crusade
Singing groups come and go but not the Crusaders. This gospel group has been singing together for forty-four years -- the same four people -- and they are coming to Elmwood.
As teenagers in the mid-60s, the Crusaders grew to be one of the Midwest's best-known gospel groups. In the 70s they started traveling full-time sharing the stage with other nationally known southern gospel groups, like the Blackwood Brothers and Stamps Quartet. Today, because of their powerful presentation and the resurgence in popularity of gospel music, their music and message is in its greatest demand.
Their unique blend of praise and worship songs and southern gospel music appeals to all ages. The Crusaders will be presenting a concert at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 400 West G Street, Elmwood, NE on July 27th, at 6:30 p.m. There is no charge, but a free will offering will be taken.
