These houses are showing off their Christmas spirit!!  If you see a house that you would like to share with me and the other readers, snap a picture and e-mail it to me or let me know the address and I will take the picture myself.
I would also like to hear about special events happening in the community - food drives, caroling, Christmas parties, sledding parties, Christmas programs, coat drives, toy drives, etc. - anything that you think helps get people in the Christmas spirit.

Darrell Mather's 80th birthday party on December 13th was a huge

success!  He had so much fun visiting with family and friends.  Even though the weather

looked kind of "iffy" in the morning, the drizzle held off until the party was finished.

Darrell and his family (by the way, Darrell is my father) would like to thank everyone who

wished him well.  This day will be remembered with happiness for many years.

The Lofte Theatre

The Lofte Community Theatre in Manley announces that its holiday production of Robert Fulgham's "Uh-Oh, Here Comes Christmas" will open on Friday, December 4. Fulgham is perhaps best known for writing the humorous book, "All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten."

Directed by Kevin Colbert, "Uh-Oh, Here Comes Christmas" weaves together a string of Christmas stories and original holiday songs. It is a charming look at the struggle to find the spirit of Christmas amid the avalanche of commercialism and chaos that descends upon us each December. Actors will be accompanied on stage by Lynnette Zimmer playing a baby grand piano onstage through much of the show.

The cast consists of Chuck Danskin of Lincoln, Virginia Kincaid of Elkhorn, Scott Pope of Eagle, Anna Strobel of Omaha and Kevin Colbert of Weeping Water. Performance dates are Dec 4-6, 11-13 and 17-20. Showtimes are 7:30pm Thursday-Saturday. Tickets are $16, and reservations can be made by calling the Lofte box office at (402) 234-2553 or purchased online at http://www.Lofte.com

"A Christmas Lottery"

Opens Mahoney Winter Theatre Season

Mahoney State Park announces the opening of its winter theater season with the touching holiday story, "A Christmas Lottery" by Dave Brandl, Charles and Donna Ault. "Lottery" tells the story of George and Mary Williams, winners of a $40 million lottery prize. They host "Radio Riches," a broadcast where they receive calls and letters from people seeking assistance, and then they share the stories about the people they help. Who is the most deserving and what will they really receive for Christmas? Enjoy heartfelt examination of the value of money vs. the quality of life.

Directed by Mike Sewell the cast includes Stacy White and Shari Hoelker of Omaha, Jim Knierim of Louisville and Tom Lucas of Papillion. Performances are November 28, 29, Dec 4-6, 11-13, 18-20, 26, 27-30. Showtimes are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2pm. Sunday, December 27th is the only exception; it will have no 2pm matinee, but an evening performance at 7:30pm.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under. Mahoney State Park also offers a dinner and show package which includes a meal at Peter Kiewit Lodge. The price for the dinner/show combination is $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. A Nebraska state park sticker or purchased day pass will be required to enter the park.

Those planning on attending the show are encouraged to come a little early and enjoy a cruise around the beautiful Mahoney State park scenery. The colors are beautiful this time of year!
