LOOKING AHEAD

We're already browsing seed catalogs and planning ways to make the pumpkin patch even better next season.  As we approach 2013, here are a few dates to put on your calendar.

Barn Sale & Spring Open House - April 12-14, 2013

Shop for rusty gold, vintage finds, antiques, repurposed treasures & more.  We'll be collecting and working on projects all winter long and should have the barn packed by spring.  Enjoy lunch from the Schoolhouse Cafe, visit the farm animals & explore the farm, too!

Ninth-Annual Pumpkin Festival - September 21 - October 31, 2013

We look forward to seeing you soon and wish you the Merriest Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Sincerely,

Terry & Teresa Lorensen

January is National Blood Donor Month, a time when the American Red Cross recognizes and thanks the millions of dedicated blood donors across the country for helping ensure a stable blood supply for patients in need.

Since 1970, National Blood Donor Month has been celebrated in an effort to educate Americans about the importance of regular blood donation and the impact it can have.  Every day, around 44,000 pints of blood are needed in hospitals to help treat trauma victims, surgery patients, organ transplant recipients, premature babies, cancer patients and more.

January can be an especially challenging month to collect blood donations because of inclement weather and seasonal illnesses.  Throughout the month, the Red Cross is honoring the contributions of those who roll up their sleeves to help save lives, one donation at a time.

Upcoming blood donation opportunities in Cass County:

January 5 from 7am to 1pm at Louisville High School - 202 W Third Street

January 7 from 11:30am to 5:30pm at Plattsmouth Methodist Church - 702 Main st

January 7 from 1-6pm at the Fire Hall - 601 N Fourth St - Elmwood NE
