Poison Prevention Week Poster Winner
Congratulations to Lindsey Spohr of Weeping Water on winning the Poison Prevention Week 2007 Poster contest! Lindsey's poster will be displayed during poison prevention week, March 18-24, on a billboard in Omaha. Lindsey received a first place rosette ribbon and her poster will be permanently displayed in the Nebraska Regional Poison Center. Lindsey's poster will also be submitted to Washington D.C., for consideration for the 2007 National Poison Prevention week poster. Lindsey is in the fifth grade and because of her spectacular win in this contest, the school has agreed to host a pizza party for her class during lunch sometime in March. Her class also gets to travel to Omaha during Poison Prevention Week to view her poster on the billboard and then stop at everyone's favorite--McDonalds!! Lindsey's class is very proud of her on achieving such a prestigious award. CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN LINDSEY!!

Avoca Lions Club
I know that Avoca isn't exactly my community to write for, but I thought I would add a little something in our newsletter about our neighbors. The Avoca Lions Club is having their annual soup dinner and raffle this Sunday, March 4. The soup dinner will start serving at 11:00 am and close at 1:00 pm and the cost is free-will donation. Help out our neighbors in their fundraising efforts for their town.

Additional News: The Blevins Family fundraiser is on Saturday, March 3. This was my error on the last newsletter and I apologize. I mistakenly wrote that it was on Sunday. I have also done a little more research and found that the bands that are going to play at the fundraiser are Johnny on the Spot and Herbie & the Hotheads. Again, I apologize for the mistake.
