Due to construction at the school, the recycling trailer has been relocated to Manley until further notice.


The last day to enjoy the city pool will be Sunday, August 17th.

There will be shortened hours during the week of the fair.

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, August 6, 7 and 8th, the pool will close at 6pm.

Saturday, August 9th, the pool will close at 4pm.


Don't forget to come out to see the Omaha Storm Chasers at Werner Park during Weeping Water Community Night, Thursday, July 31st.

Keep Cass County Beautiful will be having a recycling event at their booth in the Expo Building at the Cass County Fair August 6-9, 2014.  Everyone who brings us rechargeable batteries and cell phones will receive an earth-friendly reusable grocery bag.

The Old Avoca Schoolhouse, in Avoca, Nebraska, is offering a TWIN FIDDLING WORKSHOP, on Saturday, August 2, from 10am - 12 noon, in the Old Avoca Schoolhouse.  The workshop, led by championship fiddler and author, Deborah Greenblatt, is perfect for fiddlers who want to learn to play duets with other fiddlers.  Students of all ages will learn how to construct their own harmony parts by ear, and by writing the notes down in standard notation.  Tunes will range in difficulty from easy to intermediate.  Fiddle tunes from many traditions will be explored, including Irish, Swedish, Klezmer, Cajun, Scottish etc.  Enrollment is limited to 10 fiddlers, and pre-registration is required.  To sign up, or to ask questions, email This email address is being protected from spambots.
