Congratulations seniors!!
Weeping Water graduation took place this last Saturday, May 12th in the Weeping Water high school gym. Although it was very hot and stuffy, it was a very wonderful graduation. It was a time for celebration and joy for all of the accomplishments the students had made.
Suzy Hammons, Brianna Hammer, and Michaela Brinkman were the three seniors that were honored with being able to give speeches. All three speeches were very enjoyable. Congratulations to Suzy who did a wonderful job reciting her speech from memory due to the fact her speech was misplaced. Weeping Water’s High School band played the processional and also a musical selection during the ceremony.
Students recognized for being in National Honor Society are: Michaela Brinkman, Nate Douglas, Steven Falcone, Brianna Hammer, Suzy Hammons, Jordan Mason, Mark Moser, Eric Nielsen, Louie Nutter, Eric Sorensen Sarah Thoms, Matt Tietgen, and Brianna Wipf.
Students who graduated Summa Cum Laude (With high distinction) were: Michaela Brinkman, Brianna Hammer, and Suzy Hammons.
Students who graduated Magna Cum Laude (With distinction) were: Mark Moser, Sarah Thoms, and Brianna Wipf.

Join together with others and take part in the “Help Whip Cancer” campaign. We dedicate the month of May to raising funds and awareness in the fight against breast cancer. Together we can make a difference.
Entry for the walk will be the purchase of 1 Pampered Chef “pink” product and with each product purchase $1.00 will go to the American Cancer Society for Breast Cancer Education and early detection programs. There will be a drawing after the walk for a “wonderful” Pampered Chef product.

Pickin’ The Park’s date has been changed from June 21, 22, and 23 to June 7, 8, and 9. The time and all the information stays the same, the only thing that has been changed is the date. Aren’t you excited? Now you don’t have to wait as long to enjoy some great country and bluegrass music right in our hometown!!
What Have They Been Up To?
For the past week Weeping Water students have been preparing for the last week of school. All are busy with testing and last minute homework. Weeping Water High School is trying something new this year for the end of the school year.
Tuesday, May 15th will be the last day for junior high students who have a 70% or above for second semester in all of their classes. Those students who do not have a 70% or above will work in the classes that they don’t have a passing grade in on Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday, May 16th is the last day of school for all K-6 classes. Wednesday and Thursday, May 16th and 17th 9-11 students will be taking semester exams. Any student who has a grade of at least a 93 % and fewer than 10 absences from a class will be excused from taking semester exams. Also any student who has at least a 90% and fewer than 8 absences will be excused from taking the semester exam. Friday, May 18 will be the last day for secondary students checking out with the end of the day at 11:00 am.
