SAFE KIDS
The holidays are approaching and many families will be traveling by car. Car crashes are the number one killer of children ages 3-14 in the United States. Safe Kids Sarpy Cass is encouraging child passenger safety seat checks before holiday travel. Nearly 85% of child safety restraints are installed incorrectly in Sarpy and Cass counties. A simple step to have your children checked in their car seats/boosters at a Safe Kids Child Passenger Safety Seat Check event could keep them alive when traveling to celebrate the holidays with family and friends. Don’t let your child become a holiday statistic. Remember, your children are counting on you to keep them safe! For further information, visit www.safekids.org.

IT’S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS!
Here are some great lighting displays to check out!

DARRELL & NORMA MATHER
100 WEST D STREET, WEEPING WATER

JANICE HERMANN
400 NORTH ELM ST., WEEPING WATER

THE GAZEBO ON MAIN STREET IN WEEPING WATER
THE COURTYARD OF THE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
102 WEST ELDORA AVE., WEEPING WATER
Remember, I would love to showcase houses and businesses that have been decorated for Christmas in my column every week. If you see a house all decked out in its Christmas finery, snap a picture and send it to me, along with the address, so that I can tell my readers where they can see the display in person.
I would also like to hear about special events happening in the community—food drives, caroling, Christmas parties, sledding parties, Christmas programs, coat drives, toy drives, etc.—anything that you think helps get people in the Christmas spirit.
