First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) has two new support groups.
Life Management meets at 6pm, Thursday nights. This group is for anyone who experiences depression, any mental health or spiritual issue, or just plain coping with life. This group is led by Rev. Dr. James McReynolds, pastor since 2005. Pastor holds M.Div., D.Min. degrees from Vanderbilt University Divinity School and Psy.D from the University of Oxford in England. He is a licensed mental practitioner in Nebraska and a certified spiritual director.
On Tuesday mornings at 10am, Dr. McReynolds leads an ecumenical support group for people who are more than 55 years of age. The goal is to find happiness and taking risks and trusting God as we grow older. Common myths of aging, aptitudes, transititions, retirement, the family system, relationships, money, mature faith, and sharing with new friends.
First Christian Church is located north of the Weeping Water Post Office.
