Remember to defrost the bird! If you have forgotten to take it out of the freezer, the only option is to place unopened turkey breast down in sink filled with cold tap water. Allow 30 minutes per pound. Change water every 30 minutes to keep surface of turkey cold. It will take about 7 hours to defrost 15 lb turkey this way.

Last year our extended family party experienced undercooked turkey disaster because aunt Linda forgot to defrost the bird. And so, our last year's Thanksgiving will always be remembered as "Defrostergate 2016"!

Butterball website will provide a lot of information to newlyweds that cook the turkey for the first time, and help those who cooked it 50 times before but got a "snafoo" this year.
